Over the years I’ve seen a few men I would really like to get to know, but nothing ever came of it. I’m not attracted to men romantically, but occasionally I’ve seen a man whom I admired and would have liked to know better.

Such men seemed balanced in their outlooks to living and capable of making their ways in life as well as of making a difference in their communities. I sensed that they would be willing to share what they knew - even be a mentor as well as a friend.

It was the acquaintance with such a man that nurtured my interest in Freemasonry.

When Jonathan mentioned he was in Masonry it sparked a long-standing desire to learn more. I had already read an exhaustive history of the events of Freemasonry and I had worked with a Mason of another lodge on a community project in another town. I was ready to move ahead.
